Stupid-Me-Not :-(

I held the belief that email groups is an ingenious way to stay connected…an amazing way to mass communicate, discuss ideas, rag friends and in all share the latest news and updates with everyone by typing in just one group name in the  ‘TO’ field 

Like everyday today also there was an email from a university fellow regarding various job openings in his company for software engineers….his mail sparked my cv forwarding spirit and I instantly decided to send him 2 CVs of my friends who were looking for better career options 

I hit the reply button, attached the two CVs in  .pdf format…wrote my message as to how these CVs were not for the job descriptions he had sent but for openings in finanace, BD, HR or admin…..and then I clicked the ‘Send’  button 

That’s when I noticed the replying address….To: fastianz_03@yahoogroups.com 

I think email groups is the dumbest, stupidest and the most infuriating way to stay in contact :-P

    yeah it is really bad, esp since i am continually getting email that i have made a mistake :-( …
    and will be doing just tht from hence onwards :-S

    im sure next time you will be extra careful… I know people who posted their love emails to such groups. And the rest is history :D

  5. well, I once emailed a teacher confusing his mailing address to be that of a team member’s! =P

  6. A classfellow had once emailed his solution to an assignment to our whole group. That was fun.

    Another classfellow, however, did kinda the same as you, i.e., emailed the whole group while assuming that she was only communicating with a single person. That email contained her academic account’s password.

    Now that was even more fun!

    Hehe the point of thinking is keh wht was it tht u wrote in tht mail ;-) V had some pretty rough experience with the Lit Club’s group with our head in it too :-S

    for the 1st one, i think the guy was being an angel hehe…we always shared our solutions… the FASTians are notorious for tht ;-)

    for 2nd one…uhoh i hope u ppl didn’t blackmail her or smthing with tht :-P

    Its pretty common like forgetting attachments, sending emails to group instead of one person :)

    You know, I had this training called “Effective Business Communication” while discussing email as communication medium, It was stressed at least 10 times to check for TO & CC field… Some put you in CC address you…!

    And always double check what you are pasting before pressing that enter after a quick copy paste job in some chat window too :<

    atleast you didn’t forget to attach the CV’s….
