One might miss several days during a lifetime without even noticing that a chunk of our life has slipped away unless a very important day is stolen away from you…..the Eid day :(

Right now I’m sitting in the huge driveway of my Chacha’s palatial villa in Al Ain where we reached last night around 2:30 am UAE time…for so called Eid Holiday….

But Eid that had already happened in UAE yesterday and which will be there in Karachi tomorrow L while we end up being in the Eid day limbo :(   :\

And as happy as I am to break away from the monotony of our routine and once again come back to this global village, I still think that Eid ul Azha’s full spirit can only be felt in my dear Pakland. I love the moooooing and bleating of the animals the whole day along and it’s a lot of fun petting the wildest of the animals plus the animal parades that are carried out by the guys on the Eid’s eve….

My brother, my cousins and my uncles are after me to join them in the  game of cricket, they are playing  and so let me wrap this up by wishing you all a very happy and hearty Eid with lots of kebabs and chops and whatnots…but try to go easy on you stomachs with all the meaty things ( why couldn’t we have had chicken slaughtered on Eid ul Azha? :P  )

  1. And you’re in the UAE for Eid? I agree it’s not the most fun place to have Eid!

And well, as my nana used to say, Musalman ki pehchaan hi beef hai! :P

  2. Yup in UAE for Eid….though we totally missed the real Eid :(

and as for beef…I think my Dad and my brother are totally going to second your Nana ji’s quote…though i am all out for chicken and veggies with an occasional pepper steak thrown in now and then ….

O the Muslims, the meat eaters :)

  3. Slaughtering chickens? Imagine… a rich man would be slaughtering around 100 chickens or more.. and we’d have been importing chickens. Chickens would have met the fate of Dodos. Poor dodos.

  4. @ Hina

or maybe then the chickens would conspire to all come up with birdflu and try to escape the dreadful fate….poor dodos i agree but maybe they just discovered the invisibility cloak and wore it to get away from the fierce eyes of the beastly world….Ah!!

But as for chicken imagine kids chanting:

    “Murghi ayi! <urghi Ayi!”

    Cool eh? :)

  5. Agar Chicken ki qurbani hoti to us mein hissay kitnai hontai?

    hmm……. i guess .05

“why couldn’t we have had fish….”

  6. @Faisal

  7. hmm it seems dat u got me dis time……..

    na na na …

    i didn’t complete da sentence

    it is like

“why couldn’t we have had fish served on the eid day”

  8. lol @ qurbani shuda fish

The “murghi ai” chant sounds … funny! hehe

Anyway, the dodos have discovered the invisible island of invisibility!

  9. @Faisal

reh gayay bhai…reh gyay aap….pehlay he pura bolna tha na :P

    @Hina

Maybe my imaginary friend has also discovered that invisible island coz i haven’t seen it in quite some time now :-/

  10. Perhaps you forgot to buy an imaginary ticket for your imaginary friend when you were leaving Pakistan. Think hard… this must be so! Have you received any imaginary calls lately? Or imaginary letters? It might be trying to get in touch with you.

  11. @Hina

that could be a possibility, the sensibility of my sense is itself pretty imaginary and so it comes and goes on will….i forget wht i really hav to do… :(

nope, no imaginary phone calls either :-/
